Volimes Zakynthos
The district of Skinari is located on the North coast of Zakynthos and contains several villages including the traditional mountain village of Volimes. The area is also home to the port of St Nikolas, the natural health spa Xigia, Makro Gialos, Mikronisi, The stunning Blue Caves and the most famous landmark of Zakynthos the Shipwreck cove.
Volimes is completely unspoilt and it feels as though you are stepping back in time. The locals are well known for their market that sells traditional handmade products including, rugs and lace and also homemade cheese, wine and natural honey from their own hives.
The scenery is breathtaking with spectacular pine clad mountains and panoramic views over the Ionian Sea it really is a photographers paradise.
From the port of St Nikolas you can take a ferry boat to the neighbouring island of Kefalonia or a trip to the Blue Caves and Shipwreck.
