Argassi started off as a small suburb of Zakynthos Town growing up around a narrow strip of sand and shingle beach which runs throughout the resort.
Argassi has kept its friendly character, becoming popular with the young and lively, and has a great range of typical tavernas as well as restaurants offering international food.
The resort is centred around its one busy street that has a definite buzz that comes with being compact. Everything is easily within reach by foot but if you are looking for larger beaches then you can follow the road out of the resort which takes you to Vassilikos where there are many vast deserted beaches for you to enjoy.
Zakynthos Town is just a five minute taxi ride away and is worth a trip to see the original sights of Zakynthos or to tour the shops.
